That's just the way his season has been for him and for us; lost opportunities, bad luck, a scoping sick. But in the end we decided that the race will be paced in the present and not the past (or the future) and so we decided to take our shot. He deserves a chance to beat Somebeachsomewhere and I applaud his owner/trainer/breeder Steve Crevani for taking his shot. The Meadowlands now has a YouTube page for the Meadowlands Pace, the Hambo and (hopefully) all things in between and after. YouTube (and Facebook and MySpace) are EXCELLENT ways in which to grow interest in the sport not just because they are roamed constantly by people under 30 (the generation of fans we've heretofore lost). I didn't think Badlands Nitro would be able to get there at the end but he did and good for him. And good for the connections of Moon Beam, the horse who looked just awful a few weeks ago. He finished a solid third. I have a question though. I read somewhere that Legacy 'N Diamonds would have been penalized for not racing in the final. Is this common? I didn't see Thong...
