Another vote against a "Rudderless Ship"

Arthur Hancock III's pinky knows more about horse racing than I do.  He is the eldest son of A.B "Bull" Hancock and the grandson of A.B. Hancock, Sr. and if you don't know those names then let these trot off your tongue-- Gato Del Sol, Sunday Silence and Fusaichi Pegasus are just a few of the horses Hancock bred.

So when he talks we all ought to listen. And what is Mr. Hancock talking about these days? The lack of leadership in horse racing-- a topic all too familiar to regular readers of Wire to Wire. Okay, so Hancock is talking about the Thoroughbred game. But his precise points are applicable to our harness game as well. Here is the link to his column today lamenting the lack of leadership over a "rudderless ship." It is an instant classic. Read it and then tell me that the USTA is enough to help us steer through these difficult times.

The man's right about the twains not coming together for the good of the whole!

Now where have I read that before?

From Andrew: Thanks Bob. Centralized leadership is so obviously needed in horse racing that the failure of our current "leaders" to achieve it is downright negligent.
