Good morning. The USTA's website has this fawning interview with new Board member Sam Lilly. He says all the right things, indeed, but it would have been nice for him to provide more specific examples of what he would like to do now that he has a vote in determining the Association's future. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Your call for more specifics is legitimate. Unfortunately there was not nearly enough time or space available in this interview to get into details. If you are really interested I suggest you read my monthly column (as well as the past issues) in my magazine. For years I've made very specific suggestions and railed against the poor practices currently being the norm. Regretably the impact has been limited. I certainly do not have all of the answers, but at least I think I've figured out some correct questions and can recommend strategies that will have some success, if anyone is interested. It appears there is some interest recently, but it will be for naught until the track ownership agrees to move on a new approach to presenting harness racing.
