Nice Picks for Canadian Hall of Fame

May 20th 2008

We've known the names for a few weeks now but the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame made it official today in announcing its inductees for the year. Who can argue with Real Desire and Peaceful Way or any of the human choices? Not me. And remember it could always be worse-- we could honor our best, in the US and America, by voting the way they do in baseball (ick) or in football (double ick).

So in lieu of any complaining, how about y'all regale me with some Peaceful Way, Real Desire, Pierre Levesque, or Cliff Chapman, Jr stories? I would love to hear them all.

I've seen my share of hand-wringing and controversy with the USHWA elections for the Harness Racing Hall of Fame, and I've probably been a member only a little bit longer than you.

To clarify my question, in the US we do vote for the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in a manner similar to baseball. Or was that your point and I just missed the sarcasm?

From Andrew: My point was only that the baseball Hall of Fame elections bring with them all sorts of hand-wringing and controversy so it's nice that ours does not.

Congratulations to the human and equine inductees.

Andrew: I don't understand your comment on voting.
