The Harness Edge-- great new design, by the way-- is reporting this morning that Somebeachsomewhere has been scratched from his scheduled Ontario Sire Stakes start this weekend due to a "stone bruise." I am not familiar with that sort of injury so tell me, dear friends, could it impact his season beyond the next few weeks?

It's not uncommon for a horse to suffer a bruised foot. SBSW's connections are absolutely doing the right thing by taking the conservative approach and not racing him in the OSS for relatively little money compared to the races he has later on in the season.
The injury is probably nothing in and of itself, but the last thing you ever want to do with a top horse is race him sore in a minor event, for fear he will develop a more serious injury elsewhere as a result of his protecting the sore area.
