Okay, I am not crazy about the name of the show-- PA Harness Week is a little meek for my tastes-- but I am delighted that Comcast SportsNet is going to air from this Saturday to August 23rd a weekly harness show featuring Steve Ross and Shannon DiAntonio. This is important not just because millions of viewers will have access to it but because it could serve as a model for other regional harness shows and, perhaps, even a national one.

 

So, to all those of you out there who have contacted me over the past few years rooting for a show like this-- you had better watch it and help promote it and make sure that Comcast knows you are out there. Chuck Geffen-- this is your chance, too!

 

Editorially, let's study it and learn from it so that this fall we can use those lessons to pivot back to Comcast, or FoxSportsNet, or Versus, or Altitude, or other sports-recreation-dominated cable networks for a more regular gig. The show is being produced by Harrah's Chester and Mohegan Sun/Pocono Downs in partnership with the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen Association. Good for all of them.
