In keeping with our anti-horse slaughter theme this week....Deanne Stillman, the author of an important book about America's mustangs, passed along yesterday an
interview she did recently with Newsweek magazine about a U.S. government proposal to euthanize approximately 6,000 wild horses in western states to reduce the population of mustangs to about 27,000. Her summary? "The fox (the Bureau of Land Management) is guarding the hen house."
