The USTA held its annual meeting where marketing ideas were discussed and Phil Langley was re-elected as president. The Hambletonian Society also held its annual winter meeting and the board voted unanimously to drop the stallion restriction of 4-year-olds for the Hambletonian, Hambletonian Oaks and Breeders Crown races.
Hall of Fame horseman Jim Doherty died Saturday, March 14 at the age of 74. His complete obituary appears in this issue.
