Sent off as the 3-1 second choice, Buster B Skipalong rallied from far back to get Dillander triumph number 1,000. It was the pacerís ninth win in 35 season's starts.
Dillander dropped Buster B Skipalong into seventh in the early going, nine lengths behind at the first quarter. He was seventh at the :56.2 half, six lengths off the leader and still fifth at the 1:25.1 three-quarters when Dillander sent him three-deep through the last turn. The 4-year-old Perry Smith trainee put on a burst of speed at the top of the lane and drew off by 1-1/4 lengths.
Dillander is currently enjoying his best season on the Chicago circuit. He has 179 wins, 31 more than last season, his previous best total among his 10 years of driving. His previous best total of $1,255,002 came in 2005.
