August 05, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Artistiic Fella won his 10th straight race and Took Hanover his second in capturing their respective $125,000 Oliver Wendell Holmes divisions at the Meadowlands Saturday afternoon. Took Hanover's next start will be in the Adios.

As for non Adios-eligible Artistic Fella, he is on the verge of reaching the $1 million mark after his 1:48.4 victory, while Took Hanover scored in the second split one-fifth of a second slower.

Artistic Fella, who had not raced since winning the $1 million Meadowlands Pace July 15, was moved to the top at the three-eighths by driver Cat Manzi and never looked back as he won his third straight race in 1:48.4. Perfect Union took second for David Miller with Feelin Friskie, who is also scheduled to head to the Adios, rallying late to finish third for John Campbell.

A son of Pacific Fella, Artistic Fella is trained by Steve Ellliott. He is owned by Joseph Alborano.

Campbell notched his third stakes win of the afternoon with a win behind Took Hanover. The son of The Panderosa took control approaching the half to go on to the victory, easily fending off the stretch bid by Armbro Deuce (George Brennan). Sandro Hanover saved ground from post one to finish third.

Noel Daley trains the winning Took Hanover for owners Adam Victor & Son Stable and John Fielding.
