13-year-old Sean McIntosh takes top riding honors

Sean McIntosh, the 13-year-old son of Hall of Fame trainer Bob McIntosh, placed first last weekend in the Novice Rider division at the prestigious Richland Park Horse Trials in Kalamazoo, Mich.

 

Sean participated in the equestrian triathlon, which involves dressage, cross country and show jumping. The top riders from the United States and Ontario participate, including Olympic medalists.

 

Sean and his horse, Airborne, train at the Nova Equestrian Center in Amherstburg, Ont. The two will now head to London, Ont., for the Ontario Championships.
