Fourteen 3-year-old filly trotters were drawn into Sunday afternoon's Kentucky Filly Futurity at The Red Mile. Seven will start in a pair of eliminations, with the top five in each returning for the second heat. If there is no double winner, then the three victorious fillies will return for a third-heat race-off.
Drawing post five in one of the elims is the top-ranked Check Me Out, who has lowered the world record for 3-year-old filly trotters four times this year. What makes this year's Filly Futurity interesting is that trainer Ray Schnittker has stated that he plans on racing Check Me Out in only the first elimination and not bring her back for the second heat.
