Woodbine Entertainment Group released figures Friday that noted Woodbine/Mohawk averaged $1,441,430(C) in daily handle on its harness programs in 2006, with total handle exceeding $373 million over the 259 days of racing.

Trackside, there were 631 claims made worth $19,238,750(C). Favorites won at a rate of 36 percent, with 1,019 chalk horses reaching the winner’s circle from 2,832 races. Favorites finished in the money 82 percent of the time.

And as for longshots, the biggest payoff of the year came when Yorktown Gunner returned $229.30 in the Ontario Sire Stakes Super Final for 3-year-old colt trotters Oct. 14 at Woodbine.
