1:52.3 by Brunton Tilly

April 27, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Brunton Tilly coasted across the wire in 1:52.3 Friday night at the Meadowlands, picking up his sixth win in nine starts this year, his first season of racing in the U.S. Thje 9-year-old gelding, who is a half brother to world champion Victory Tilly, had previously raced in Sweden.

Unlike the previous week when they were parked for most of the mile, this time Brunton Tilly and driver Ron Pierce enjoyed a two-hole trip. In the homestretch he shifted into overdrive to take the lead and hold off Corleone Kosmos.

Brunton Tilly's 152.3 clocking is a lifetime best. He lowered his previous mark, a 1:53.3 speed badge he took on March 23 at the Big M.
