1:58.2 freshman at Scioto

AB's Beach Boy became the fastest 2-year-old pacer in North America by virtue of his 1:58.2 victory over the five-eighths mile oval at Scioto Downs in a qualifier Tuesday morning.



A son of Jenna's Beach Boy-AB's Dasher, AB's Beach Boy was more than 16 lengths behind at the :57.1 half but used a final quarter of :27.1 to gain the decision by a head. Bob Harper drove for trainer Michael Lee.



Last Saturday, Intendo's Majesty became the first sub-2:00 two year old when he scored a 1:59.4 victory at Hoosier Park.
