The Illinois Racing Board on Tuesday approved a 2013 race schedule for the state that includes 251 dates of harness racing divided at Balmoral Park and Maywood Park.
Balmoral Park received 150 race dates, which includes a schedule that runs from Jan. 2 through Feb. 2, and Feb. 13 through Dec. 29. Racing at Balmoral will be conducted three nights per week on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sunday. The track will be dark on Easter on Sunday, March 31, and on Christmas Day, Wed., Dec. 25.
Maywood Park received 101 dates, which includes a schedule that runs from Jan. 3 through Feb. 1, and Feb. 14 through Dec. 27. Racing at Maywood will be conducted two nights per week on Thursdays and Fridays. The track will be dark on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 28.
