Friday’s Kentuckiana Stallion Management Stakes at Indiana Downs attracted a group of 27 freshman filly trotters, resulting in three $88,500 divisions. The contests are slated as the sixth, seventh and ninth on the 13-race program.

Acorn Stakes winner Maryanne K headlines the first group of nine. Owned by Ira Kristel, the Yankee Glide filly possesses the most earnings in the field, $30,625, as well as a 1:59.3 clocking. Conway Hall freshman Celebrity Lady enters Friday’s contest off a third-place effort in a Merrie Annabelle elim. She has yet to win for Celebrity Farms, but has posted a second-place effort and two show finishes. Self Possessed progeny Aurora Hall, a runner-up in each of the last two starts, could pose a threat for trainer Ron Gurfein.

Possess The Magic come to Shelbyville after a disappointing finish in the Merrie Annabelle final at the Meadowlands. The Brittany Farms-owned Self Possessed filly has won four of six starts and has accumulated earnings of more than $135,000 under the guidance of Gurfein. Possess The Magic set a lifetime mark en route to winning the New Jersey Sire Stakes final in 1:56.1. Chip Chip Hooray freshman Midnight Hooray enters the second division on a four-race win streak. Trained by Joe Essig, the trotter has been competing in the Ohio Sire Stakes ranks, carrying a mark of 1:59.3. Merrie Annabelle elim winner Falls For You and Arden Downs victor Godiva Hall also drew into the second split.

Ervin Miller-trained Apecs has the rail in the final division. The Muscles Yankee filly won the Hanover at Balmoral Park in July with a 1:57.4 performance, and in her last start at Indiana Downs, was beaten by a nose. She is joined by Celebrity Speedie, a 1:57.3 winner conditioned by Jimmy Takter. The daughter of Malabar Man finished ninth in the Merrie Annabelle final after an interference break. Flight Surgeon possesses the most earnings of the group. The Mario Zuanetti-trained Malabar Man filly is winless in four starts, but has hit the board twice for earnings of more than $21,000. Miss Color Chip, a local entry owned and trained by Verlin Yoder will look to add her second win in 2006. The Chip Chip Hooray freshman trotted in 2:00.3 to win a Genesis Series event at Indiana Downs Aug. 2.
