Two horses died at The Meadows during the Monday afternoon race card, a program that for the most part was raced in a snowstorm. According to reports, the 8-year-old mare Lislea Isabelle choked down, according to driver Brady Brown, while warming up for the 14th race and subsequently died. A short time later during the 15th race, Little Bit Tricky fell and died on the track. Brett Miller was driving the 7-year-old mare. Kim Hankins, the executive director of the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, told The Horseman Tuesday afternoon that as a result of a pall cast over the track by the deaths of the two horses, as well as sub-par track conditions that resulted from the falling snow, the decision was made to cancel the 16th and final race on the card.
