It is widely perceived that when WEG's Pick 7 wager starts to produce large carryovers and bloated pools, it takes either a syndicate or a very deep/expensive ticket to strike it rich, so when a lucky and prudent handicapper bucked the trend Thursday evening at Woodbine, it proved that anyone can hit it big on the exotic wager.

When Stepaside Larry rallied with a flurry in Pick 7's final leg (Race 9) Thursday night, a single patron, who constructed a mere $32 ticket, walked away with the entire pot, $211,408.75 to be exact. The breakdown of the ticket--which had two horses singled and didn't go more than two-deep in any race--is listed below:

Race 3 (Leg 1) - 3 (Lock N Load West - $12.60), 5 (Southview Maverick - finished 3rd) Race 4 (Leg 2) - 4 (Nobananas - $14.20), 5 (Farmer Jones - finished 9th) Race 5 (Leg 3) - 9 (KG Wrangler - $7.50) Race 6 (Leg 4) - 7 (Ozo Idzarda - $10.80), 4 (Mr Overcool - finished 9th) Race 7 (Leg 5) - 10 (Winston Image - $6.10), 9 (Lasthing Iremember - finished 2nd) Race 8 (Leg 6) - 4 (Nates Got A Grin - $4.50), 10 (Trey Hanover - finished 7th) Race 9 (Leg 7) - 2 (Stepaside Larry - $10.90)

In the Pick 7, bettors must correctly select the winners of races three through nine. If there are no winning tickets, 25% of the net pool is paid out to the ticket holder(s) with the most correct winners, and the balance is carried over to begin the next day's races.

The all-time highest Pick 7 payout at WEG came at Woodbine on Dec. 10, 2004, when a sharp handicapper took the entire $1,017,163.50 pool.
