Pennsylvania-sired 2-year-old filly trotters competed in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes action at Harrah's Chester Thursday, and four daughters of Broadway Hall shared the spotlight with the 5-time winner Athena Hanover, who set a track record with her 1:57.3 score.

The first four divisions of the PASS were won by daughters of Broadway Hall. Timeless Winner, trained by George Teague Jr., kicked things off with her 6 3/4-length tally in 2:00.3. Then came two Jim Arledge Jr.-trained fillies, Diamondsonbroadway and Marion Michelle, who both won by open lengths. Diamondsonbroadway hit the wire in 1:58.3 while Marion Michelle won in 1:59. Then Broadway Hall's daughter Dancing On Stage scored in 1:58.1.

Athena Hanover, who has dominated her PASS foes with the exception of one leg, easily won the last division, scoring by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:57.3 for trainer Jim Campbell. The Tagliabue filly has now won five of six starts this year. Her only defeat came in a PASS on Aug. 17 at Mohegan Sun at Pocono, when she was beaten by Dancing On Stage.

Athena Hanover is owned by Vincent and Geraldine Molloy. Their filly got away sixth behind leaders Tortoni (Eric Goodell), Morguns Sweetheart (Yannick Gingras), and Tarport Majorette (Jim Taggart, Jr.) after a leisurely opening quarter of :30. With Tarport Majorette continuing to advance off the cones, George Brennan pulled with Athena Hanover, placing her second-over at a half of 1:00.2.

Behind dead cover at this point, Brennan circled Tarport Majorette up the backstretch, cutting a 27.4 third quarter herself to reach three-quarters completion in 1:28.3. She maintained her lead, unchallenged in the late stages through a :29 final quarter to stop the timer in 1:57.3.
