Although live racing concluded June 24, Hoosier Park played host to a final set of qualifiers Thursday, June 29 specifically for freshman. A total of 15 races were offered for two year olds with 29 trotters and 84 pacers going to post.

Eden Burst recorded the fastest pacing mile of the morning with a 1:57.1 clocking. The Safety Patrol colt was driven by trainer Bobby Brower. He is owned by breeders Lavern Hochstetler and David Bontrager. Electric Yankee filly Kinda Electric put in the next fastest circuit, setting a majority of the fractions in a 1:58.3 effort for driver Patrick Berry. Brian Hauck trains the Jayne Cummins-bred filly now owned by Victory Hill Farm Inc.

Full Of Cinnamon won his qualifier for trainer Dan Bowermaster in 1:59.1. The gelded son of Full Of Fun is a half-brother to mare Mark’s Art, a winner of more than $90,000 with a mark of 1:53.

The first crop of Dontgetinmyway had a strong showing. The colt Bestnotgetinmyway paced to a 2:00.3 victory for driver and trainer Dan Shetler while filly Bouncy Three put a neck in front to win in 1:59.3 for trainer Alvin Miller.

In the four qualifying events for trotters Dakota Spur gelding Kozmo DFC tallied the best time. The Dakota Spur gelding completed the circuit in 2:02.2 under the command of Dan Shetler. John Merkel conditions the freshman for DFC Stables. ABC Garland filly No Credit Needed trotted to a three and a half length victory in her qualifying effort, winning in 2:03. Chip Chip Hooray filly Midnight Hooray won by six and a quarter with a 2:04.1 clocking for trainer Joe Essig.
