The Swedish V64 wager, which is offered at the Meadowlands, Freehold and Saratoga Gaming & Racing, has a carryover jackpot of $3.7 million for the Wednesday, Jan. 23, races.
The big carryover was created when there was no payout for four correct selections on Jan. 16 due to the fact that the payment did not meet the minimum threshold required by the Swedish government on the V64 races.
V64 races are run every Wednesday at Solvalla racetrack in Stockholm, Sweden. Advance wagering begins on Monday and is open until post time 1 pm on Wednesday.
Bettors win the V64 by selecting the winners of six consecutive races. Consolation payouts are made to bettors who select five or four winners.
AB Trav och Galopp (ATG), which was assigned by the Swedish government to run the Swedish horse racing tote organization, operates Sweden’s 37 racetracks and makes it possible to bet on horses via 2,030 betting shops, through 3,800 cash register terminals in supermarkets, and via the ATG website and cell phones. Total handle processed by ATG in 2006 exceeded $1.6 billion.
The V64 wager is one of Sweden’s largest betting products and is also available in Denmark, Netherlands, Germany andAustria. (ATG)
