Tioga Downs hosted eight divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old trotters on Friday night in front of a packed house of 5,000 spectators. Claude Huckabone III and Chuck Connor, Jr. both posted driving doubles on the night’s 11-race card.

Alpine Fancy helped Huckabone to his first win of the night. She is conditioned by Octavia Rappoport, who shares ownership with Christopher Berke. Alpine Fancy, a daughter of Giant Hit, established a new lifetime mark of 2:02.

L Dees Carla also established a new lifetime mark of 2:02 on the night’s card with driver-trainer Huckabone. Celebrity Diva with driver Stephane Bouchard finished second, while it was William Okusko and Bridal Veil in third.

Seneca T and William Bailey posted the fastest mile of the night for the colt and gelding trotters with a mile timed in 2:00.2. It was the third win in eight starts this season for the 3-year-old son of Credit Winner, who was an $18,000 yearling purchase. It was more than 11 lengths back to Felony Hall and Chuck Connor, Jr. in second, while Tim Curtin and Nippon Index closed for third.

Tioga Downs continues live racing action on Saturday, August 12 with a double header that starts at 12:00 p.m. and continues with a second racing card at 6:50 p.m. The feature on Saturday night’s card will be The Zweig Memorial Trot, which has drawn two fields of seven top class 3-year-old trotters. Each division will compete for a purse of $120,000. Ten top-class 3-year-old trotting fillies will battle it out for a purse of $56,600 in the Zweig for distaffers.
