The favorites Carter In Motion and Bigmizndrstnding emerged victorious in both of Friday night's $20,000 divisions of the second leg of the Ontario-Sired Spring Series for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers at Mohawk Racetrack.
It was Carter In Motion who prevailed from the outside post in the opening split which was contested under a thick blanket of fog and light rain. The son of Camotion-Armbro Affinity parked past the first quarter in :27.4 and then cruised to an easy 1:54 decision over Auctioneer and Card Dealer. Paul MacDonell guided Carter In Motion to his second straight win and third overall this season for trainer Scott Barr and owner Tony Aarts of Putnam, Ontario. He returned $3.50 for the victory.
The fog had lifted by the time the second division went postward in race four, however the rain had intensified at that point and it was Bigmizndrstnding splashing his way to a dominant victory for Jody Jamieson in 1:55.3. The son of No Pan Intended-Bigamiz was 1-3/4
lengths better than Cuzzin Sid with Sudden Cam finishing another five lengths back in third. It was the fourth win of the campaign in nine starts for Bigmizndrstnding, who is trained by Jim Ainsworth for owners Larry Ainsworth of Ontario and William Boden of British Columbia. The $60,000 (estimated) final of the Ontario Sired Spring Series will take place next Friday night at Mohawk.(WEG)
