Three-year-old colts tested their mettle in a qualifier Thursday morning at the Meadowlands, highlighted by Fox Valley Appeal (1st, 1:51.1), Total Truth (2nd, 1:51.2), Alastor Hanover (3rd, 1:53), and Bartolomeo N (4th, 1:56).

All of the above colts are eligible to the Burlington on June 3 and the North America Cup on June 17, both at Woodbine, as well as the Meadowlands Pace, set for July 15. Only Fox Valley Appeal is not eligible to the Little Brown Jug.

Alastor Hanover, a son of Rustler Hanover, made $374,268 last year on the Ontario Sire Stakes circuit. He was driven by Brian Sears, trained by Jeff Smith and owned by Vicki Lynn Fair. He was a $13,000 yearling purchase.

Total Truth won the Niatross and Smullin and $102,825 last year for owners Only Money Inc. and Teague Inc. and trainer George Teague. The son of Jenna’s Beach Boy was an $18,000 yearling purchase.

Bartolomeo N, an imported son of Presidential Ball, won the Nassagaweya and $177,081 last year for owners Jeff and Michael Snyder.

Fox Valley Appeal, a son of Sportsmaster, is returning from a two-month layoff. He won the Junior Trendsetter earlier this year for owner Ribbonships and trainer Jeff Smith.
