6 straight for Tweedle Dum

Tweedle Dum notched his sixth straight victory at Pompano Park Wednesday with a 1 1/2-length triumph in the $10,000 Preferred-Handicap Trot. It was the 6-year-old gelding's 11th win of the year. Tweedle Dum is now tied for second place among the winningest horses in North America this year.

Ultimate Sundance (Bruce Ranger) was the first to get away from the starting gate but before the opening quarter mile in :28.1, Tweedle Dum and driver Walter Ross Jr. were on the lead.

And just as he has done the last five starts, Tweedle Dum would not give up the lead. Cutting the mile to the half in :57 and then the three-quarters in 1:26.4, Tweedle Dum had no challengers as Railee Possible (Tom Sells) and U Toe The Bike (John Kakaley) moved to the outside but could not advance on the leader.

Coming down the stretch, Tweedle Dum held the field at bay with the easy win in 1:54.3. Ultimate Sundance was second with Guy Gets Girl (Daryl Bier) third.
