A Fiesty Affair equaled the Hanover Raceway track record for two year old pacing fillies Saturday en route to a nine-length victory in Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots competition. The Camluck freshman led gate-to-wire in a 1:57.2 effort, one of five divisions contested. Handled by Scott Coulter, A Fiesty Affair broke her maiden with the victory in the $21,277 contest. She is trained by Bill Elliott for owner and breeder Robert Hamather. The record time equaled marks by Teacher Supreme and Alias Seelster, both established in 2005.

Driven by Dave Boughton, the Duke Of York two year old wired the field to win by two and one-half lengths. Dr Sparky and Aaron Byron collected the first division in 2:02.3. The Dr Ronerail filly is owned and trained by Karel Laarakkers. My Pen Pal and Trevor Henry trotted to a gate-to-wire victory in the second split. The second choice stopped the clock in 2:02.1. Travelin Supergirl put a neck in front of favorite Ms Naughty to win the third division in 2:01.2. The Kadabra freshman was driven by trainer Mark Steacy.
