Alexis "Alley” Maria Magee, the daughter of Illinois-based horseman Dean Magee and his wife, Kimberly, died Jan. 5 at Morris Hospital. She was 20.
Born in Naperville, Ill., on Dec. 21, 1993, she attended Minooka and Morris high schools.
She was a groom for her father's Standardbred racing stable in Ottawa and loved working with her father's horses. Her favorite horse was Frostonpunkin.
She enjoyed mudding, snowmobiling, dirt-biking, and horseback riding. She loved animals, especially horses. A very free-spirited young lady, sheloved having family and friends around. She loved God and is now free to walk with Him.
She is survived by her parents; brother, Taylor; grandparents, Tillie and Fred Hegwood; paternal grandmother, Orriene Buckley; and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Curtis.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 3-7 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home located at 301 West Washington Street, Morris, Ill. A celebration of herlife will be held on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Yandell officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.
