Allstar Hall debuts at Lex

Return Home
July 26, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Regally-bred 2-year-old colt trotter Allstar Hall will make his career debut at The Red Mile Friday night, as the historic racetrack opens for the 2006 season. Allstar Hall has drawn post five in the 8th race, a $5,000 event on the all-Kentucky fair contest 14-race card.

A son of Like A Prayer-Amour Angus, Allstar Hall is a half brother to $800,000 winners Andover Hall, Angus Hall and Conway Hall. Bred by Walnut Hall Ltd., Allstar Hall was a $270,000 yearling purchase by ACL Farm, one of three that sold for that year-high price at the 2005 sales.

Allstar Hall has won two qualifiers at Scioto Downs heading into his pari-mutuel debut. Anette Lorentzon, part of the ACL stable with her father, John Erik Magnusson, was in the sulky as Allstar Hall romped in his debut by 10 lengths in 2:02.1 on July 7, following that eight days later with a four-length victory in 2:01.1. Lorentzon's boyfriend, Peter Wallinder, is the trainer.

Allstar Hall's eight rivals in Friday's race have started 41 times, with only pole-sitter HJ Super Legend finding the winner's circle. That colt has a record of 7-3-2, coming off a career-best 2:08.2 victory at the Lebanon fair July 15.
