Allstar Hall romps in quali

Allstar Hall, a 2-year-old colt from the first crop by Like A Prayer and out of the top producing mare Amour Angus, made his first qualifying start at Scioto Downs Friday morning and won wire to wire by 10 lengths in 2:02.1 with a last quarter in :29.3.

Allstar Hall was a $270,000 yearling purchase from the Walnut Hall Ltd. consignment last fall by Jon Erik Magnusson, who turned the training duties over to his daughter, Anette Lorentzon, who handled the driving duties in the qualifier.

Amour Angus, a daughter of Magna Force, is one of the sport’s most prolific broodmares. She has produced the likes of Andover Hall 33, 1:51.3 ($870,510), angus Hall 3, 1:54.3 ($830,654), Conway Hall 3, 1:53.4 ($818,886) and Emilie Cas El 3, 1:57.1f ($245,199).
