Return Home
November 06, 2010 | Print View

Allthatgltrsisgold scored an 11-1 upset victory Saturday night at Indiana Downs in the $250,000 Monument Circle for 3-year-old male pacers, while Won The West rebounded from an uncharacteristic off-the-board finish in his last start to win the $125,000 Indiana Pacing Derby.

Allthatgltrsisgold, driven by Dan Shetler, got away seventh and then followed cover on the outside before taking the lead at the stretch call and holding on in a blanket finish to score in 1:52.3. The Dave Magee-driven Iam Bonasera, half the 2-5 favored wagering entry with Power Of A Moment (Dave Palone), finished a neck behind in second, with Trick Man and Ray Paver another nose back in third. Power Of A Moment was three lengths further back in fourth.

The winner in June of the North America Cup consolation at Mohawk, Allthatgltrsisgold won for the sixth time this year in 20 starts. A son of Cam's Card Shark bred and owned by Victory Hill Farm of Lagrange, Ind., Allthatgltrsisgold is trained by Bobby Brewer. His seasonal earnings now stand at $418,045.

Won The West, whose seven victories this year coming into the Indiana Pacing Derby included the $500,000 Breeders Crown Open Pace, rebounded off a fourth-place finish Oct. 16 in the Allerage at The Red Mile to win in 1:50.1. Driver Ricky Macomber Jr. moved Won The West first-over from fourth past the quarter to gain the 1 1/4-length win over Bettor Sweet (Peter Wrenn), with Freddyscooter (Trace Tetrick) third.

A 6-year-old gelded son of Western Hanover, Won The West now has 33 wins in 88 career starts, with earnings of more than $3.45 million for owners Strollin Stable, William Robinson and James Koehler. Won The West is trained by Ron Burke.
