Alphadoodle starred on a night filled with 2-year-old trotting fillies in the New York Sire Stakes at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The Rick Zeron trained filly was making her New York debut and drew the rail with Hall of Famer Wally Hennessey at the controls. Alphadoodle (Credit Winner-Ella Minnow Pea) moved right out to the early lead in her $50,007 stakes debut and never looked back, setting a track record for 2-year-old filly trotters with her 1:58 win. The victory was the first of her young career. The previous mark of 1:59.1 was shattered by three different fillies on the night with Alphadoodle being the fastest of all.
Jim Morrill, Jr. swept the evening's other divisions of the NYSS races as he piloted Lady Riviera (Sand Vic-La Riviera Lindy) and Isabella Gal (RC Royalty-Tango Hall) to 1:58.1 wins and You Want Me (Credit Winner-Annette Hall) to her second straight score, prevailing in 2:00.2. (Saratoga)
