Alpine Dauntless extends winning streak at Saratoga

Alpine Dauntless extended his winning streak to three on Thursday when capturing the $5,500 featured non-winners trot at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway in 2:00.

Starting from post one with conditioner Brian Allen at the lines, Alpine Dauntless seized control of the race the moment the gate swung open, marching aggressively to the front through fractions of :29.2, 1:00.2, and 1:30.2.

After facing little opposition from his rivals, Alpine Dauntless entered the stretch with a 1 3/4-length lead and was never presented with a challenge down the lane, opening up on his overmatched foes in the final yards to prevail by 2 1/2 lengths

Alpine Dauntless returned $2.60, $2.50, and $5.20 for the victory.

Raffle Ticket (Brian Cross) paid $12.80 and $25.60 for second, while Illin N (Scott Monegeon) brought in $39.20 when finishing third.

Owned by Alpine Racing of Boston, Mass., Alpine Dauntless has visited the winner’s circle in four of his last five starts after getting his picture taken just twice in the first 25 outings of his career.

Bred in New York by Syscomp Leasing Inc., Alpine Dauntless is a 4-year-old son of Credit Winner, out of the Mr. Vic mare Mittens Hanover. (Saratoga)
