A who’s who of three-year-old colt pacers turned out for the Messenger eliminations Saturday at Brian Sears and Always A Virgin got away fourth, pulled at the half and took the lead from Southwind Lynx and Tim Tetrick at the finish. Posting a :27.3 last quarter, Always A Virgin won by half a length. Forensic Z Tam (Pat Lachance) came from last at the top of the stretch to be third, Watta Hotshot (Greg Grismore) finished fourth and Pandoras Sox (Dave Miller) was fifth, just three and a half lengths from the winner.
Joe Holloway trains the Western Ideal colt who is owned by Bluewood Stable, Roll The Dice Stable and Val D'Or Farms. Always A Virgin will be going for his 15th lifetime start in the Messenger Final.
