November 08, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

World champion 3-year-old colt pacer will take on a field of older pacers Saturday night at Woodbine Racetrack. Trainer Casie Coleman has entered the son of Western Ideal owned by Mac Nichol and Brittany Farms in the $50,000(C) Open Pace where he will take on six rivals, including Admiral's Express.

American Ideal won a Bluegrass division at The Red Mile on Oct. 1 in 1:47.4, the fastest mile ever paced by a sophomore. He followed that up with a win in a Tattersalls division the following week and has since qualified with an easy victory at Mohawk on Nov. 1. He will be driven as usual by Mark MacDonald in the Open Pace.

Here is the complete field for the Open Pace:

1 Flashy Baron (Jack Moiseyev)

2 Tigerama (TBA)

3 Bolero Loupet (Phil Hudon)

4 American Ideal (Mark MacDonald)

5 Stonebridge Galaxy (Rick Zeron)

6 Admiral's Express (Paul MacDonell)

7 Rare Jewel (Luc Ouellette)
