An Elegant Bee Line

Betting favorite Buck I St. Pat broke stride at the start, and Bee Line was instead the winner of the $559,200 Elegantimage final, using an off-the-pace rally to score in 1:54.4 Saturday night at Woodbine.

Bee Line, owned by Johanna Beaver, trained by Chris Beaver, and driven at Woodbine by Luc Ouellete, had won her Elegantimage elim the previous week by a commanding six lengths. But the 3-year-old Self Possessed filly did not face Buck I St. Pat in the elim, who had won her own split by a big margin as well, and in a faster time (1:55.4 vs. 1:57).

Last year Bee Line won three of six starts and took a mark of 2:02.2 at Freehold.
