The Truro Harness Horse Owners Association (THHOA) has announced that Roger Huston, voice of The Meadows and the Little Brown Jug, and one of the most recognizable voices in harness racing history, will serve as guest speaker at its upcoming banquet on Saturday, April 24, at the Truro Horsemen's Club. Huston will also announce the races at Truro on the following day, Sunday, April 25.
The event, sponsored by RDMD Refrigeration and Dave and Ron MacDonald, will begin at 6 p.m., with a roast beef dinner at 7 p.m. Presentations and awards will follow dinner. The night will be capped off with dancing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. as the Tim Bowers & Gordon Tucker Band is slated to be entertaining.
There will be 200 raffle tickets sold at a price of $20 each, with the main prize a complete harness package sponsored by Greenhawk Harness and Equestrian Suplies of Truro, N.S.
