Maltese Artist, owned by John Howard, James Koran and George Leon, won a qualifier at The Meadows Friday morning in 1:54 with Mike Wilder aboard.



From post position five, Maltese Artist went right to the lead and set fractions of :29, :57.1 and 1:26.1 before pacing his final quarter mile in :27.4. Western Millennium finished second..
