For the second straight week Still Electric romped to victory in the $33,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Tuesday, while Lockes Of Love took the $26,000 Jr. Mares Open. Both were driven by Tim Tetrick. In the $33,000 feature, Tetrick left with Still Electric from post eight and got to the lead after Chloes Silver Star took the select field of eight starters to the quarter. From in front of the grandstand until the finish line it was all Still Electric. The 1:52.3 mile was her fourth victory in five starts this year for the Mr. Electric-Still Terrific 5 year old now owned by Howard Taylor, Jerry Silva and Tom Lazzaro. Chloes Silver Star held on for second for Eric Goodell with Pacific Philly and Eddie Davis Jr. third. Tetrick also drove Cantwell Bridge Stable's Lockes Of Love home in 1:52.4. Roxie Lee N got up for second with Ross Wolfenden driving. Erma La Em and Ron Pierce took third. Three Point Acres' Costly Legs won the first of two $17,000 mare paces. Pierce steered the Wynfield Mark-Costly Towner 8 year old to a four-horse photo finish 1:54.4 victory. Alice's Restaurant (Tetrick) closed strongly to finish second. Firiel Hanover (Tony Morgan) led early and held on for third in front of Mymymylookatherfly (Corey Callahan), fourth. In a second $17,000 section, Wannahuckaloogi made it two in a row for owner -trainer Tony Poliseno and driver Morgan with a 1:54 triumph. Madges Lil Fortune (Wolfenden) was runner-up. Ash Larue (Pierce) was the show horse. George Dalphon's Hot Lips won the $16,000 mares pace as Callahan piloted a 1:54 victory. Red High Heels (Wolfenden), the only sophomore in the field finished second a half-length back. R Jacki (George Dennis) finished third.
Brandon Givens racked up his third win of the night guiding Funtime Filly, a 40-1 shot, home in 1:53.3 to win a $14,500 mares pace. It was the Stand Forever-Starfleets Force 5 year old's first win for Candace and Richard Laws who claimed her the week before. . In a $14,000 trot, Green Racing and Meadowbranch Stables' Batalj Launcher made his first local appearance a winning one as Goodell pulled the Tap In gelding to the outside on the final turn and sped to a 1:56.1 victory equaling his lifetime record. Tonight Aas (Tetrick) was runner-up. Sugar Valley Alley (Carlo Poliseno) finished third. (Dover Downs)
