Another strong session

The third session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale continued the auction’s strong pace with the sale of 141 yearlings generating an average price of $41,225, an increase of 24.6 percent over last year’s third session. Boosting the third session on a beautiful Friday night was the sale of eight yearlings for prices of $100,000 or more.

A colt by Western Ideal from the maternal family of Art’s Conquest, hip number 310, topped the Friday night session at $225,000. The colt consigned by Brittany Farms is the second foal of the Artsplace mare Bewitching Jewell. Trainer Gary Mills of Canada signed the sales slip, acting as agent.

Two horses later, a filly by Conway Hall brought a final bid of $200,000 from trainer Doug Miller. The filly is out of Armbro Victorious, a daughter of Armbro Fern, who has produced Armbro Keepsake and other stakes winners.
