Indian Hill Rocket ($5.20) was the pocket-rocket at the isle pompano park Wednesday, getting a perfect trip from pacesetter Gale Warning to win the $10,000 winners-over trot in 1:56.1.

The feature event saw Indian Hill Rocket and driver Kevin Wallis go right to the front from post three with Famous Mark (Marc Major) leaving from the outside to grab the two-hole spot. But by the opening quarter mile in :28.2, driver Wally Hennessey had Gale Warning on the move and in command before the half-mile mark in :58.1.

As the field entered the backstretch it was Famous Mark getting flushed first-over by Karpathos (Mickey McNichol) and Famous Mark started to challenge Gale Warning, pushing the lead to the three-quarters in 1:27.2.

Then as they started down the stretch, Wallis moved Indian Hill Rocket from the pocket trip and they were able to breeze by Gale Warning to win by three-quarters of a length. Guy Gets Girl (Bruce Ranger) was third.

Owned by Yvette Prudenzano and Basil Kellis of Wells, Maine, it was the seventh win on the year for Indian Hill Rocket, a 6-year-old gelding by Corleone from the Arnies Exchange mare Ruby Exchange.

Pompano’s all-time winningest driver, Ranger, had the hot hands Wednesday, winning five of the 10 races on the program. (Pompano Park)
