Southwind Tempo did her part to provide some fireworks on the Fourth of July racing program at Monticello Raceway, winning the $225,250 Lady Catskill Pace with a virtual wire-to-wire 1:54.3 effort. Driven by Tim Tetrick, Southwind Tempo started from post two, but Tetrick had the Bettor’s Delight-sired filly quickly on the point. They cruised home in :27.2, winning by 3 ¼ lengths over Western Graduate, with Bolero Tallia third. Toby Lynch and Wayne Chrebet share ownership of Southwind Tempo while Steve Elliott trains the filly. The filly has won nine of 10 starts this year for earnings of $466,047.
