Two freshman fillies remained unbeaten in their brief careers with impressive victories in Ohio Sires Stakes action at Scioto Downs on Friday evening.

Jesse's Messenger just missed the track record with her 1:57.3 clocking in the filly trot as the daughter of Jailhouse Jesse now has six wins in as many starts. Ryan Stahl drove for trainer Kent Sherman and owner Daryl Sherman.Photo Spur was second and Lima Countess third.

In the other OSS trot, the Victory Is Coming posted an easy-does-it win for trainer-driver Ammon Hershberger. She was sent to the front at the start and then slowed the tempo in the second quarter. When challengers applied pressure in the final quarter, Victory Is Coming simply left them in her dust.

Count On Kate was second while Lima Halo got up for third. She was timed in 2:01.4.

The winner is owned by Betty and John Red Shaw of Mount Vernon.

The pacing filly Hawk's Cry Electra remained unbeaten in her brief career by taking her fifth victory in an OSS division.

Dan Noble drove the daughter of Mantacular with supreme confidence, allowing Longlegacy and Lullaby Til Dawn set the early fractions. When Noble tipped his filly in the final quarter, she looped the leaders easily and drew off to win by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:55.4.

Lullaby Till Dawn held for second over Longlegacy.

Virgil Morgan, Jr. trains the winner owner Joseph Muscara, who purchased the filly last month after she had shown exceptional ability in her early starts.

In the other division for freshman pacing fillies, Lovely Dawn overtook heavily-favored Rub Thing in the stretch to win in 1:55.2 for driver Ray Paver. Her margin was a half-length while Up Front Cruiser was just three-quarters of a length back in third.

Lovely Dawn broke her maiden in winning for the first time in five starts. Jim Arledge, Jr. trains for owner Leonard Buckner.
