Maine vote falls short
January 11, 2006
Maine's House on Tuesday failed to override Governor John Baldacci's veto of a bill that would have called for a statewide referendum on a new racino in the state, the Associated Press reported. The vote, 77-63, was well short of the two-thirds majority needed to send the matter to the Senate.
