The Trond Smedshammer Stable put two of its 2007 stable stars--Arch Madness and Falls For You--on the track at the Meadowlands in qualifiers on Thursday morning and they won handily, with the 4-year-old gelding Arch Madness scoring in 1:55.1 and the mare Falls For You hitting the wire first in 1:56.1.

Arch Madness, who upset Donato Hanover in the Breeders Crown, won by 4 1/2 lengths with a :27.1 final panel. Others in his field included the free-for-aller Corleone Kosmos, who finished fourth, and Mythical Lindy, who finished eighth, beaten 24 3/4 lengths.

Falls For You, a 4-year-old daughter of Yankee Glide, used a :26.2 closing panel to win her qualifier by 4 1/4 lengths for Smedshammer.

In another qualifying race, Val Taurus--the successful Quebec-bred trotter who took on Donato Hanover in the Kentucky Futurity--broke stride at the start of his race and couldn't rebound, finishing up the track. He is now trained by Jimmy Takter. The 4-year-old mare Godiva Hall was also in the race and finished fourth.

Two 3-year-old fillies were also in action. Thong, the Western Hanover pacing filly who was a part of the deal that sent Southwind Tempo to owner Jerry Silva, won her qualifier in 1:56.2, last quarter in :26.2, for ddriver John Campbell.

On the trotting side, Bella Dolce, a 3-year-old daughter of Kadabra who competed successfully in open stakes, won her qualifier in 1:57.4.
