On yet another hot and muggy Saturday afternoon at The Red Mile, Armbro Dancer won the $60,000 Allerage Farms Mares Open Pace in 1:48.4. Driven by Ron Pierce, the 4-year-old daughter of Blissfull Hall was victorious for the fifth time in 14 starts while lowering her previous career best by four-fifths of a second.
David Miller sent Molly Darling N to the early lead but coming out of the first turn Yannick Gingras had Ideal Weather up and on the move, reaching the front at the :26.3 quarter pole. Heading down the backstretch driver Ron Pierce sent Armbro Dancer to the outside and she rushed to the front, reaching the half in :53.4. She then hit the three-quarter pole in 1:22.1 as she led the field turning for home.
Armbro Dancer held game throughout the lane as Gingras tried to urge Ideal Weather up the inside. Marnie Hall picked up third money for driver Daniel Dube.
Trained by Jimmy Takter, Armbro Dancer is owned by Louie Camara. The win was her 18th in 35 career starts, increasing her lifetime earnings to $865,157. Erlier this year she captured the $212,200 Golden Girls at the Meadowlands and the $124,000 Artiscape at Vernon Downs.
