Art Attack euthanized

Return Home
May 30, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Art Attack p,7, 1:50.1 ($656,735), a royally-bred son of Artsplace-Seven O'Clock who turned in his best efforts as an older horse, was euthanized Saturday afternoon at Freehold Raceway after taking a bad step and shattering a bone just after the start. He was 11 years old.

Art Attack raced with modest success as a young horse in the U.S. before being shipped Down Under. When he returned to the U.S. in 2001 he put together four straight $100,000-winning seasons and paced to his lifetime mark of 1:50.1 at the Meadowlands. He equaled that time just last year. He won 60 races, including 43 in the U.S.

Horseman Ted Wing both trained and owned Art Attack and said the horse would always have a home with him.
