Winbak Farm of Canada has announced that Art Colony will be standing at the Ontario based farm in 2011. The son of Artsplace has a mark of 1:51, has earned $863,750 and was trained by O’Brien Award winning trainer Casie Coleman.
In April of this year Art Colony was officially retired by owner Tom Hill and trainer Casie Coleman after the colt reinjured his suspensory that he had originally torn in 2009 during the Meadowlands Pace.
Art Colony won four of seven starts as a 2 year old, making his mark of 1:51, earned over $400,000, and won the Governor’s Cup elimination. As a 3 year old he came back with stellar force, finishing second in the North America Cup, the elimination for the Burlington Stakes and the Meadowlands Pace elimination.
“He is a great-looking horse: big, athletic and powerful. His semen tested excellent and we look forward to 2011 with Art Colony in the breeding shed,” stated Winbak's Larry Drysdale.
