The "Magnificent Mares" section of the Tattersalls January Mixed Sale at the Meadowlands shifted the sale into overdrive on Monday afternoon as Breeders Crown champion Artcotic brought a whopping $315,000 from trainer George Teague Jr. and Danae and Isabella Blue Chip brought bids in the $200,000 range.
Teague conditioned Artcotic, who was being sold because of a dispersal of stock owned by the trainer and Rodney Mitchell, as well as Danae, who won the Hambletonian Oaks. Danae brought a bid of $240,000 from Mitchell.
Diamond Creek Farm bought Isabella Blue Chip with a bid of $210,000. The 2-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year in 2006 suffered from bad feet in 2007, but still managed to push her career earnings to $792,069.
