Kovach Stables' Art Director ($7.80, Victor Kirby) notched his 35th career win with a 1:52.2 win in the featured $23,000 Open Pace Monday at Harrington Raceway.
The 8-year-old Artiscape stallion and Bobby Clark trainee has now banked more than $937,000 in his career. Sniper Hall (Mike Cole) set the fractions from post eight in pursuit of a third straight win, but Kirby gave Art Director a perfect two-hole trip, and surged by in the stretch for a two-length score. Sniper Hall held second, while Ruling VC finished third.
Drivers Tony Morgan and George Dennis each won three races on the program. The will be a spectacular display of fireworks on closing night at Harrington, July 2. Racing will resume for a special day of action on July 30 during Governor's Day at the Delaware State Fair, before the meet resumes on its normal Sunday thru Thursday schedule Aug. 16. (Harrington)
